From Red Heifer to the Pool
from "Team Dominican Republic Update"

Earlier this year, you may recall, the church was privileged to have Dr. Glenn Mathews conduct a prophecy conference. A couple of those sermons, Peter as representing Israel and the significance of the red heifer, made lasting impressions. In those services was a group of unsaved young people who had been attending the church for some time and had been talking to Pastor Miguel privately about questions they had about life.

On one night of the conference, part of this group of teenagers left the meeting, got as far as the street corner, and then felt the deep conviction of the Holy Spirit. They turned around, reentered the church and accepted the Lord as Savior. Since then, they have been faithfully attending the church and that group has continued to reach other friends with the gospel. It has not been an easy walk, as many of them faced early opposition by their parents. Thankfully, in July, the parents gave permission and a large group of them was baptized. This group of teenagers is part of the core of Pastor Miguel's youth program and they are faithfully serving the Lord in the church.

It just goes to show that a faithful exposition of Scriptures by a Spirit-filled servant of God can touch any age group. Dr. Mathews is no spring chicken, as they say. Yet he speaks with an authority that transcends age groups. His message of the Red Heifer in January concluded in the baptismal pool in July.

Mission Trip to Cuba Cancelled

Glenn's plans were to have gone to Cuba in late October and early November. He was to have ministered with Henry Benach and Steve Cook in a training program for believers who are interested in witnessing to and working with the Jewish population on the island. Glenn has cancelled his particiation for this trip for two reasons. First, the funds for the trip are not available. Second, the trip would conflict with making final preparations for the 23rd Israel Bible Study Tour that is scheduled for November 5. He hopes to be able to go to Cuba at a later date. Pray that God will provide the right timing AND the funds.

Report of Mission To Dominican Republic
by Dr. Glenn Mathews

"From January 25 to February 2, 2007, Glenn served, along with two others, in the areas of Juan Dolio and San Pedro, Dominican Republic.

Pastor Gary Drake of Bethel Lighthouse Church in Marietta OH ( and Board Member of Revival Crusade, Inc.) and Dr. Tom Davis, Dean of Word of Life Bible Institute, Scroon Lake, NY were the other speakers. The Association of Baptists in Dominica, a group of about 25 churches held their 51st annual conference. The theme was PROPHECY. From Friday evening until Monday afternoon, both morning and evening sessions were conducted. Over 700 people were in attendance at each service. Some of the pastors had expressed anxiety about preaching from such books as Daniel and Revelation, for fear that they would “not get it right”. The three of us instructed the people regarding the pre-tribulational, pre-millennial return of Christ AND what affect that teaching should have on the life of the believer.

On Sunday night and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Glenn preached at Iglesia Baptista Christiana in San Pedro. The church is led by missionary/pastor Gary Hale. Lewis Memorial Baptist Church in Huntington WV is Gary and Allison’s home church.

The Lord blessed the efforts in both places. Although the focus of this trip was on instructing and edifying believers, there were 19 professions of faith in these two meetings.

For those of you who invested in the cost of the trip and for those of you who prayed, we are most grateful!. May the Lord richly reward you is my prayer."

Report of Missionary Trip To Philippines
by Dr. Glenn Mathews

Dr. Mathews, Dr. Steve Cook and Dr. Jack Reiss conducted a "Jew and End-time Prophecy Conference"!

"From June 22 to July 2, Dr. Steve Cook (see his web site for his report and for pictures) www.stevecook.org and I  ministered in churches in Cebu City, Philippines.  Dr. Henry Benach was to have accompanied us, but illness prevented his going. We conducted a Jew and End-Time Prophecy Conference at the Bible Baptist Church, preaching mornings and evenings Sunday through Wednesday.  Please visit the web site of the church at www.biblebaptistcebu.org     It is the best organized and administered church I have seen outside the USA.  They have a Bible Institute with over 200 students, a Christian Grade and Secondary School and have 31 extension churches within Cebu, a city of 3 million people.  The Sunday attendance at the main church averages about 3,000 and with the extensions they have between 16,000 and 18,000 in attendance. They have over 50 missionaries from their congregation serving in several countries in Asia, Africa Europe and South American.  It is a phenomenal church!

The Lord richly blessed  our efforts. We saw decisions for the Lord in each service.  The messages are all archived on the church's web site.

We extend our deepest appreciation to those who gave to finance the cost of the trip.  You will share in the rewards at the judgment seat of Christ for your investment in our efforts.

Such trips are very expensive and tiring!  From NC to Los Angeles (5 hours), sit two hours, fly to Hong Kong (14 more hours) sit 2 hours and fly about 3 hours more to Cebu City....not easy on my 70 year old body.  But, my spirit rejoices in the opportunity to serve and to see the Lord bless.

Any more mission trips planned?   Fleta and I have opportunities to return to each overseas place that we have ministered.  We also have invitations from other places where we have never gone. I greatly desire to return to China AND to the Philippines.  Pray that the Lord will give us wisdom as to which invitations to accept.  Pray that the Lord will provide the needed finances.  THANK YOU AGAIN AND AGAIN FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT."

After Action Report - Chiang Rai, Thailand
by Dr. Glenn Mathews

"From November 28 through December 10, 2005 I served with five pastors and three laymen among the Akha tribe in Northern Thailand.  This was my second trip to that area.  The purpose of this trip was to meet with native pastors and their members and conduct a Bible Conference in the evenings and to conduct seminars with the pastors and evangelists.  The Akhas with whom we were working, live near the border of Thailand,Burma (Myanmar) and Laos, north of Chaing Rai.  When we were there in 2002, the villages had no electricity or sanitation.  Now they have both and have made much "progress" in becoming a part of the society of the country.  The pattern seems to be 'Get electricity today, a TV tomorrow.'  The elderly people of the villages are seeing the people leave their cultural heritage and adopt the 'ways of the city'.

Sessions on pastoral problems, pastoral leadership, importance of
doctrinal and moral purity, resolving problems within the membership (church discipline), etc. were conducted.  Some of the team worked with couples, others with the teens and with children.  It was a profitable time for the workers and for the Akha.  Missionary/Pastor Kiatisak Siripanadorn has done a wonderful work among the Akha for the past 20 years.  He is, truly, a man of faith.

Since our first trip, this ministry has been responsible for
financing the erection of four church buildings among the Akha tribes.  Revival Crusade is the sole support for one native Akha pastor.  I was able to meet with him and to get a firsthand update of his family and his work.  I was also able to visit one of the new church buildings that we had financed and to preach in that building.

Although our focus was on strengthening the church, we did see about 20 professions of faith among the people who attended the conference.  It is about a 35 hour day to come from Bangkok to the states.  I arrived back home on Saturday evening, DEC 10, fully jet lagged, but grateful for the opportunity to have made another trip to that area of the world.  My thanks to all those  who gave to enable me to be your representative
there."
